The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great option for those looking for a mid-range robot vacuum and mop. It gives a great mopping experience, but doesn't have the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

In tests, it was able to tackle dust and dry oats on medium-pile carpet and pet hair on hard floors. However, unlike other models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to map out your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It is a powerful cleaner and a variety of features, including an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can learn your cleaning habits, and recommend automatic schedules to give you a truly hands-free cleaning experience.

The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once the system is in place you can begin the automatic cleaning with a single button press. You can select an overall clean that focuses on cleaning up larger debris like rice and cereal or two thorough mappings of your area to ensure that your home has a clean and tidy appearance.

This robot vacuum performs well on both bare floors and carpet with a low pile. It is able to pick up pet hair and sucks big objects up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot promises it will improve with the next models.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which is focused on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt an open-fronted, flat-fronted design, which will allow it to be able to swaddle furniture and walls. It's a nice change from the standard hockey puck shape of the majority of robovacs. However, we found it to be only incrementally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with an advanced filtering system that blocks tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating throughout your home. It's a nice premise, but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the premium price tag.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to keep track of the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles like stairs and other barriers and also to clean your entire house efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, as well as create virtual boundary markers, so that it can recognize areas that require more attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it comes to robots that combine mopping and vacuuming, the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those on more expensive models. Its mopping system is superior because its spinning pads scrub floors more effectively than the vibrating pads.

It's only downside is the lack of a second brush for deeper cleaning. However, that's not a major issue for those who want to own one of the top robots available. The robo-vac's dust tank also bigger than those on many of its rivals and takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the maximum dirt level.

As for the mopping device, I was amazed with its ability to scrub hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. The two mopping modes that it has, which are less aggressive than the more powerful ones, generate little noise, allowing you to work or even watch TV without interruption. If it comes into contact with the wall or a piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it before moving along.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that automatically moves physical trash to the bin hidden in the background and washes and dry the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app is good at nagging you only when something needs attention, like the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled because of a full dust bin.

You can also create and merge actual rooms to customize how the Q Revo treats your abode. This feature is useful for those who have different flooring in different areas of your home or when you have to frequently clear out clutter such as clothes, toys and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my tests and was able to remove debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first pass. It can also clean up spills that are wet but I would suggest drying them with a cloth before sending the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum that comes with all the features you could want. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum with a powerful suction to clean hard and carpet floors, plus the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough stains. It also comes with a self-cleaning base station that automatically empty and cleans mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also has a sensor that recognizes obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling on furniture and other objects.

The most significant improvement to the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its sleeker, more modern design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite big--it's over two feet high and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds--the robot itself and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.

This model is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and cleans 1,500 square feet in one charge. And it has a larger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris and is easier to empty it when needed.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that works even when you're not at home. It also has additional mopping modes as well as an intelligent routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of just following a set path.

The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested, because of its mop pads rotating to clean tough stains away and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming capabilities are excellent too, and here it boosts suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does the job well. It also has a large battery that can last for several weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as anything we've seen in a consumer-grade robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a top-quality model that comes with a variety of features that aren't typically found on robots in this price range. It can make detailed floor maps and detect different flooring types. It's also one of the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. But while these functions are useful, they also put the L10s Ultra in the luxury category which could make it slightly more expensive than some homeowners need.

Designed to resemble a modern floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish that's enhanced by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper that helps protect the vacuum and furniture from damage while moving around the house. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane which help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which acts as an on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, while clicking it again will shut off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The circular menu at the middle of the control panel allows you to choose cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will open the settings menu of the app where you can tweak how the L10s Ultra works with your home.

Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to map out your home. This creates a precise floor plan that allows the robot vacuum and mop effectively, without getting stuck in areas with clutter. The LIDAR also assists the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for families with pets or children.

The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner, which removes 98.4 percent of debris from our test on hardwood floors and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice staining. Its mops are efficient, taking away 98.4% of debris on our wood, tile, and carpet tests. It was not as efficient at removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
